That kind of behaviour gives places like Corner Carvers, Club Roadster, to a certain extent HAMB, etc., etc., ad nauseum, such a (deservedly) bad rap, that unless you enjoy that kind of abuse, you tend to stay away from them, no matter how much useful info might actually be available there. We have such a great base of information on these cars here, with members such as yourself - and so many others - who have both extensive knowledge of them AND such an incredibly friendly, helpful demeanour, that I hate to see a new guy getting smacked with the old "hey, go look it up for yourself, buddy" line right off the bat. People should develop a habit of searching these when available, and hopefully as we move further into the digital age, use of these kinds of tools will become more second-nature to us all.Īgreed, Alan - hence my stating I would "normally chide a member", but that your response was probably somewhat appropriate in this case, since t bird had asked two well-covered questions in a fairly short period of time. ![]() have been around long enough by now that many of the older, more-established ones will have a rather substantial amount of information in their archives and past postings. The intent of my response was to direct the person to relevant posts so that a more-immediate answer could be provided, rather than expend more time researching and then posting a new answer.įorums, message boards, etc. OK, perhaps I deserved that bit of chiding, but this is one of those topics that has been covered at length in previous posts. That procedure is also described in the shop manual, and here as well:Īlso, as Alan says, there are several previous threads on the forum which you may find helpful. If that doesn't work, you'll need to do it manually, which is a real ordeal. All power for the deck erect cycle goes through this switch, so it's really important to keep it in tip top operating condition. My guess is that either the flip lid has sagged and the flip lid limit switch is not making contact, or the switch has slipped back in the slotted adjustment holes. The short of it is that you need a relay jumper with three leads - one to get power off the buss bar, one to power the solenoid (so fluid can flow through the lines) and one to power the hydraulic pump. Ouch! I feel your pain and yes, there is a fairly simple way and it's described much better than I can do here, on page 41 of the '63 shop manual supplement. Is there any way to open the trunk on a 62 T-Bird roadster convertible trunk, with out useing the electric switch, there power going to the switch but it will not power the pump motor. If, after searching through our considerable archives, you still can't find what you need, please feel free to toss your question up for members to help you out with. You'll find the link at the very top of your ease check it out, and see just how much info is available to you! I know that a new forum can often be a bit daunting until you get more familiar with it, but our "search" function is very easy to use, and there are literally tens of thousands of posts that will cover just about any question or subject you may want to learn about. Please understand that although our members here are very knowledgeable, and are actually helpful to a fault, it can get quite old answering the same questions dozens of times because new members don't bother to check things out for themselves first. ![]() ![]() T bird nut: While I would normally "scold" a long-term member for being a bit less than helpful to a new guy, I have to say that this response may well be somewhat appropriate here (although, admittedly rather blunt.), based on your only two posts here so far. ![]()
